Former Royal Ascot winner Al Kazeem has been ruled out of the Prince of Wales Stakes, on the second day of the Royal Meeting – Wednesday 17th June. The Group 1 contest will be one of the highlights of the meeting for guests enjoying the luxurious Royal Ascot hospitality facilities.
Roger Charlton’s charge won the 2013 Prince of Wales Stakes and was retired at the end of that season, but after an unsuccessful spell at stud he returned to training in 2014.
The seven-year-old looked back to his best when winning the Group 1 Tattersalls Gold Cup for a second time in May.
Speaking on his website, Charlton said: “Al Kazeem returned from Ireland with an injury to his foreleg which will rule out the Prince of Wales’s at Royal Ascot, but it is hoped that he will return for an autumn campaign.”
Free Eagle heads the market at 7/2 for the Prince of Wales Stakes, which has attracted a stellar field of international stars including California Chrome.
We now only have limited Royal Ascot hospitality packages available for the most glamorous event in horse racing.
